London Launch

The London launch of the Lancet Neonatal series took place at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, March 3, 2005.  Speakers at the event included Richard Horton, the Editor of The Lancet; Zulfiqar Bhutta, Department of Pediatrics & Child Health, The Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan; Liz Mason, Health of Child Health WHO; and Carol Bellamy, Executive Director, UNICEF, as well as the Dean of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Professor Haines.


Authors present included Joy Lawn, Saving Newborn Lives/Save the Children and Simon Cousens, Professor of Epidemiology and Statistics, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine the lead authors and Anthony Costello, International Perinatal Care Unit, Institute of Child Health. Distinguished guests included Dr. Monir Islam, Head of Making Pregnancy Safer, WHO; Petra ten Hoope Bender the CEO of the Partnership for Safe Motherhood; and Regina Keith, Save the Children.
