Lancet Series on Neonatal Survival Launched!

Announcing the release of a landmark series of research papers on newborn survival that details how the lives of millions of babies worldwide can be saved.

The Lancet Series on Neonatal Health was launched in Washington, DC and London on March 3, 2005, drawing unprecedented public and media attention. A select group of experts in newborn health presented an hour-long briefing and the papers and an executive summary and supporting materials were dissminated to the audience and press.  One article per week will appear in issues of the Lancet throughout March.

, Washington, DC, and selected countries—including some of the following: Pakistan, EgyptIndia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Tanzania, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, and some Latin American countries.

Partners: Save the Children,  WHO, USAID, UNICEF, The Lancet, US Coalition for Child Survival (DC only), with support from the public relations firm of GMMB.


Purpose: To provide the evidence for mobilizing resources and spur coordinated global- and country-level action in neonatal health.
